Introduction
The White Swan Hotel is a gorgeous boutique Hotel in the heart of Greytown, which is fast becoming famous for providing the perfect venue for your intimate wedding.
The Hotel is justifiably renowned for its stunning yet affordable accommodation and unpretentious fresh country fare that was a National Finalist in the Hospitality Association of NZ Annual Awards.
The main Hotel building was originally a New Zealand Railways administration block in Woburn, Lower Hutt. In December 2002 the building was relocated over the Rimutaka Ranges in six pieces on the back of a few very large trucks. One of the six pieces almost didn’t make it; skewing off the back off its truck and teetering on the edge of the hill, closing the road for eight hours. Now pieced back together and restored the building has blended into the 125 year old Main Street of Greytown.
The Hotel consists of thirteen rooms and suites, all individually designed by Michael Nalder Interior Designer of Wellington. Michael has given the old administration block a queer eye type makeover with a vision for a smart and modern Country Hotel.
Since purchasing the Hotel over six years ago Proprietor, Jaime Slater has hosted numerous successful weddings at her Hotel. Jaime believes that the real point of difference her establishment can offer is that personal touch. “As an owner operator I am involved with all aspects of a wedding, from conception and the very first meeting right through to supervising and working the guests big day, this insures that everything runs exactly as the guests has envisaged it”
Hotel Facilities
The White Swan Country Hotel is located on the Main Street of Greytown just an hours drive from Wellington. The Hotel boasts one of the Wairarapa’s most beautiful restaurants, a friendly bar, relaxing Library, two huge open fires, plenty of off street parking and of course our famous sun drenched balcony.
The Hotel is fitted with all the mod cons that you would come to expect including wireless broadband internet, plasma TV, projector, electronic whiteboard etc. If by chance there is something that you require that we don’t currently have we will do everything we can to provide it.
Accommodation
The White Swan Hotel has possibly some of the most stunning and unique hotel suites in New Zealand.
Combining romance, comfort, style and surprise each room has been lovingly crafted with an individual personality and an expert eye for detail – yet each is appointed with the very latest features to ensure your stay is marvellous and memorable.
All rooms are fully ensuite with king or queen size beds, Sky television, mini bars, wireless internet and tea/ coffee facilities.
Within the hotel proper there are seven wonderful luxury suites each with their own theme that makes a stay something quite special and unique. For example; there is the Madison Room with its New York apartment style and the Bombay Room offering an exotic touch of India. Five of these suites have their own balconies, which beg guests to retire with a cool glass of wine on a beautiful summer evening to take in the sunset.
Situated behind the Hotel you will find the Park Suites and Studios, which offer guests a tranquil retreat with balconies and patios that back onto the neighbouring park.

Food & Beverage
The White Swan Hotel is thrilled to announce that we were a finalist in the Hospitality Association of New Zealand Annual Awards.
Our Head Craig Wingate offers a vibrant and new menu and various tailored packages to choose from.
We encourage all wedding couples to sit with Craig for as long as they require and utilise his vast experience to design a menu that is simply perfect for their big day.
The White Swan Hotel makes full use of a comprehensive range of locally sourced produce along with the finest aged beef and freshest seafood delivered daily from Wellington.
On the following page is a sample menu to get you thinking about possible menu options. As we specialise in intimate weddings we pride our selves on providing personalised packages that have been designed specifically for you.
The White Swan boasts a comprehensive wine list that is the envy of others it is complimented by a fantastic range of beer. We place great importance on stocking local wine given the strength of the region but are more than happy to provide any wine (subject to availability) that you may require for your special day.

The cost of your wedding
The cost of your wedding will obviously depend completely on your requirements and how many guests you are expecting – we can cater for up to 75 people.
When we look at hiring The White Swan Hotel for the day it really depends on what you are after – for example: To have exclusive use of the whole Hotel complex for the day is $3,500 including GST. However if you are just after the Dining room itself with the bar still open to the public we can reduce this for you.
If you are hiring the whole complex we insist that you utilise all the accommodation, as we cannot have other guests staying and not offer them use of the Hotels facilities. The cost to book all 13 suites is approximately $3,060 including GST.
At the White Swan we pride ourselves on hosting “Intimate Weddings” these are all tailor made for each couple. Whilst I have provided you with some basic information we would love the opportunity to chat with you to discuss your requirements further.
I will personally work with you from conception to completion of your special day. I physically work and oversee the whole day, which I believe is the only way to ensure that you, your family and your friends get the experience that you have dreamed of.
